Make sure you disable “block all connections not using VPN” in your GrapheneOS settings if you want to be able to send messages.
This is only applicable if you want OpenBubbles to use your VPN. I have heard it doesn’t work, but it seemed to work for me.
I received these two error messages when trying to send messages with this setting enabled:
Message failed to send
Error (0): AnyhowException(Failed to generate resource IO error: failed to lookup address information: No address associated with hostname; retrying in 30s
Caused by:
Failed to generate resource IO error: failed to lookup address information: No address associated with hostname; retrying in 30s)-FWfVzIbt
Message failed to send
Error (0): AnyhowException(Do not retry HTTP error: error sending request for url (https://init.ess.apple.com/WebObjects/VCInit.woa/wa/getBag?ix=3): error trying to connect: dns error: failed to lookup address information: No address associated with hostname)-uLQRtGW4
Remember to force stop OpenBubbles and reopen after making changes!
